How it works
Tell us what's wrong
Ring us or fill in the form with your postcode and what's going on.
A local engineer rings you
We pass it to one Gas Safe registered engineer who covers your area, not a list of firms.
You get a price first
They quote before any work starts. You decide, and you pay them directly.
What to expect
Before you call, check three things: that the boiler has power, that the pressure gauge reads between 1 and 1.5 bar, and that your thermostat and timer are calling for heat. If it's below freezing, a frozen condensate pipe is a very common cause on Tyneside. Pouring warm (not boiling) water over the white plastic pipe outside often gets the boiler going again.
Typical cost in Newcastle: £80 to £300. Your engineer confirms the price before starting.
Who we pass your job to
We don't send your details round lots of firms. Every engineer we work with has to meet these.
- Gas Safe registered, with an ID card you can check before they start
- Carries public liability insurance
- Based on Tyneside, not a national call centre
- Gives you a price before starting any work
No heating or hot water: common questions
Can't see your question? Ring 07380 307279 or ask for a call back.
What should I check before I call?
Check the boiler has power, the pressure gauge reads between 1 and 1.5 bar, and the thermostat and timer are calling for heat. If it's below freezing and the boiler shows a fault, the condensate pipe outside may be frozen.
How soon can someone come out?
Your engineer will tell you when they ring back. No heating is treated as urgent, especially in winter or if someone at home is elderly, unwell or has a baby, so say so when you get in touch.
I have heating but no hot water. What's wrong?
On a combi boiler, the diverter valve is a common cause, along with low pressure or a faulty flow sensor. Our guide to having no hot water when the heating works explains what to check first.
What if I can smell gas?
Don't use us. Call the National Gas Emergency number on 0800 111 999 straight away, open windows, don't use switches or flames, and leave the property if you feel unwell.
