A local engineer rings you
We pass it to one Gas Safe registered engineer who covers your area, not a list of firms.

They quote before any work starts. You decide, and you pay them directly.
What to expect
Most manufacturers require a yearly service by a Gas Safe registered engineer to keep the warranty valid. A service checks combustion, seals, the flue and safety devices. Booking one in late summer or early autumn means you're far less likely to be caught out in the first cold snap.
Typical cost in Newcastle: £75 to £120. Your engineer confirms the price before starting.
Who we pass your job to
We don't send your details round lots of firms. Every engineer we work with has to meet these.
- Gas Safe registered, with an ID card you can check before they start
- Carries public liability insurance
- Based on Tyneside, not a national call centre
- Gives you a price before starting any work
Boiler service: common questions
Can't see your question? Ring 07380 307279 or ask for a call back.
How often should my boiler be serviced?
Once a year. Most manufacturers need a yearly service by a Gas Safe registered engineer to keep the warranty valid, and it catches small faults before they turn into breakdowns.
How long does a service take?
Usually 30 minutes to an hour. The engineer checks the burner, seals, flue, gas pressure and safety devices, cleans parts if needed, and gives you a written record.
Is a service the same as a gas safety check?
No. A service checks and cleans the boiler so it runs well. A gas safety check is a safety inspection of every gas appliance, which landlords need every year. Many engineers can do both on the same visit.
When's the best time to book?
Late summer or early autumn, before the first cold snap. Engineers get busy from October, and it's better to find a problem before you need the heating.
