How it works
Tell us what's wrong
Ring us or fill in the form with your postcode and what's going on.
A local engineer rings you
We pass it to one Gas Safe registered engineer who covers your area, not a list of firms.
You get a price first
They quote before any work starts. You decide, and you pay them directly.
Smell gas, or a carbon monoxide alarm going off? Don't ring us. Call the National Gas Emergency Service free on 0800 111 999, turn the gas off at the meter if you can, open doors and windows, don't use switches or flames, and get everyone outside. If anyone feels dizzy, sick or has a headache, get medical advice too.
What to expect
If your boiler stops and it can't wait, ring rather than using the form, as it's the quickest way to reach a local Gas Safe engineer. Tell them who's at home, especially anyone older, unwell, disabled or very young, so they know how urgent it is.
When they ring back, they'll tell you when they can get to you and what the call-out costs. Repairs in the evening, overnight, at weekends and on bank holidays cost more than on a weekday, often one and a half to two times as much. If it can safely wait until morning, ask what the difference would be.
While you wait, run through our checks before you call an engineer. Low pressure, or a frozen condensate pipe in icy weather, can often be sorted without a call-out. Use electric heaters safely, keep doors shut to hold the heat in, and check on anyone at home who's older, very young or unwell.
Typical cost in Newcastle: £170 to £550. Your engineer confirms the price before starting.
Who we pass your job to
We don't send your details round lots of firms. Every engineer we work with has to meet these.
- Gas Safe registered, with an ID card you can check before they start
- Carries public liability insurance
- Based on Tyneside, not a national call centre
- Gives you a price before starting any work
Emergency boiler repair: common questions
Can't see your question? Ring 07380 307279 or ask for a call back.
Can someone come out tonight?
Often, but it depends who's free and how far away they are. When the engineer rings you back, they'll tell you when they can get to you and what it'll cost, so you can decide whether to go ahead tonight or wait until the morning.
What counts as a boiler emergency?
No heating in cold weather, no hot water at all, a boiler that's leaking, or one that keeps cutting out, especially if anyone at home is older, unwell, disabled or a baby. A smell of gas or a carbon monoxide alarm is different: call 0800 111 999 straight away.
How much does an out-of-hours repair cost?
Cost guides published in 2026 put an evening repair at about £170 to £400 and a weekend repair at £200 to £500, with bank holidays dearer still. That's often one and a half to two times the weekday rate. Ask for the call-out charge before the engineer sets off, and the repair price before they start.
Water is leaking from my boiler. What should I do?
Switch the boiler off, catch the water with a bowl or towels, and keep it away from sockets and electrics. If it's pouring out, turn the water off at the stopcock, which is often under the kitchen sink. Then ring us and say it's leaking.
